Basically the GXL is 1 of the funnest LAN events I have been to. The people that run it are very organized and super friendly. The gaming atmosphere they create will set the standards for future lans you attend.

As for prizes that would have to be discussed but at this point I wouldnt expect a ton. Its tough to throw money at a game that has no clear future in e-sports. And dont take that last statement wrong. Im not saying L4D has no future its just at the point that its future is uncertain.

Reasons to go....

You get the opportunity to show your stuff live and prove it on LAN.
You experience 1 of the most hyped up environments you will run across.
You get the chance to meet your teammates and fellow players and create lifelong ties.
You get the opportunity to travel and take a break from RL for a few days.

Heres why I personally attend LAN events. I enjoy North American E-Sports and the potential it has. I like meeting fans and players in the communities that I am involved in. By no means do I do it for the money. E-Rev pays me 0 dollars and I pay for everything out of my pocket knowing that there is not even a chance I will get it back. I do this because the experience is amazing.

I want this thread to stay rather on purpose with just teams that would attend this event. Please keep personal posts out of here as this will be the thread I am referencing to the GXL staff to determine if we will be able to provide a tournament for L4D.

I should be able to go. My motivation is much higher with L4D2 events of course

Good ol GXL. Was fun last time I went, though it was easier to make it to the event because my flight and hotel was paid for by Area51.

If L4D2 was an event I would strongly consider it. Would depend a lot on who else was going and if I had $500 to burn.

Would love to go if there was a L4D2 event, but travel expenses....
