So is this your thread about the LAN event?
I think to get entire teams to show up, there would have to be either sizeable prizes (to outweigh costs of travel) or at least interesting prizes (good merch., gear).
I feel like the existence of a L4D(2) event at a LAN alone would be good enough to get a number of players to show up, to be honest. Personally, I'd try to make my way just to meet people and play some LAN games.
Edit: I feel like CG was pretty well mis-represented in your cast, btw. You might want to consider that in your future casts. Our Amateur L4D2 league played well, generated new teams, and introduced teams to competitive l4d2 without dumbing-down the config. The professional league basically died due to lack of motivation (prizes), and of course half of the teams in the professional league decided not to show up to their matches. The Amateur league brought in a number of new teams to the scene and has been overall quite successful.
It's easy enough to get teams motivated to climb to the top I think, the problem is that there's nothing there for them when they get there.
